Suzanne and I summoned up the courage to take all four of our girls to the beach for a three night stay in the two bedroom, one bath condo in Galveston. Sarah and Amanda crashed on the pull out sofa in the living room, and Suzanne and I each took a bedroom and a baby. Miraculously, everyone got some sleep every night. The weather was on our side, too. Sunny, breezy days and cool nights made for the perfect spring break getaway.
Suzanne and I tried to follow the basic principle we learned from the master of the surprise beach getaway, our mom:
Don't worry too much about logistics; just pack some bathing suits and some snacks, get the kids in the car, and head south.
So that's what we did. And we're pretty sure she approves.

These are so awesome, Samantha! Yay for surprise beach trips, cousins and sisters! Those are some lucky girls, and I'm sure your mom is proud of you and Suzanne!
What a blast! The pictures are beautiful. Sounds and looks like a fun getaway, with so many great years ahead for everyone.
Aw, those were the days, my friend......
Super cute....were those dresses from The Children's Place? I love them. It's so nice to remember that sometimes you can't be prepared for everything and that a laid-back, whatever-happens-happens mentality is best for everyone. Sounds like you guys will have lots of fun girls trips in the future :)
What great memories!! And so many more memories to make. The pictures are GORGEOUS!
I'm so lucky that Eileen will get that dress from Elizabeth one day (=
What a great idea and it sounded like a wonderfully special trip!
